England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

The trio have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The event will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
