The Streaming Giant Selects Perfect Actor for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season
The Secret Organization is set to exert significant influence in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the true confrontation won’t take place until season 3, and a adored, popular member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed this week that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bentham. This character can use their power to change into an exact copy of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The actor, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that character reimagined as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action show, unlike the source material and cartoon version.
Escola is joined by several other new cast members tasked with bringing Baroque Works to reality, such as leader Sir Crocodile, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as a key member, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Though the role is a key figure of the group, the character will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. Given season 2 set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this signals a significant shift in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the character. In addition to their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
