Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a message.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote online.
Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
