Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.

Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing offensive against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
