Ariana Grande visited Singapore for the international launch of Wicked: For Good

Devoted fans of the actress are calling for that a individual who jumped a fence and grabbed the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or deported from Singapore.

A circulating video shows the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the cast walked down a event pathway flanked by fans.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "released after being taken in", though court documents revealed that he was set to attend court on the next day. It is not clear if he was charged.

Record of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram profile contains clips of him disturbing other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last year.

"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over Grande's Safety

Numerous followers accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing PTSD after a devastating incident at the end of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said a further response on Instagram.

Several fans also questioned event staff at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while others requested social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In footage shared widely, Grande appeared surprised when she was approached by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Hundreds of Singapore supporters had lined up to greet the cast of Wicked

Hundreds of fans had congregated in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore venue, including a number who had queued for as long as many hours before it started.

The motion picture, to be released on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the popular theatrical production Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected friendship between two distinct characters.

The show itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of 2024 in the UK, and scored a dozen Oscar nominations, securing a pair for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
